Africa Day 2 Blog

Well, I’m in Africa!  We went on a river cruise and saw many animals along the side of the banks and in the river.  I can only send a few pictures for now because I am using dial up internet, and that can take a while.  I think of the wonderful people I get to pastor, and I’m trying my best to represent you and my Savior while I’m here.  We will be preaching and teaching many people while here.  Thank you for your prayers, I know you are lifting me up.

In Isaiah 35, I was looking at what God said He would do.  “the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.” “joy and singing” “Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees”, “Be strong, fear not”, “streams in the desert”, “The way of holiness”  “the redeemed shall walk there”; “And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”  These promises are for the 1,000 year reign of our LORD.  Brethren, whatever this life holds that hurts, will one day be over and not even a memory!  But what God has in store for us is beyond our ability to comprehend!  Let us resolve to be faithful and true and sharing the gospel of our Savior to the end.  We will rejoice with Christ throughout all eternity.  May God bless you today.  Pastor Mike Mutchler

London, England

Tuesday morning has come and gone, but I wanted to write that we arrived in London after a fairly sleepless night and spend eight hours going quickly from one sight to another.  We see Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminister Abby, The Metropolitan Tabernacle where Charles Spurgeon pastured for many years.  Today it is still a fundamental Baptist, Gospel preaching Church.  I was thrilled to hear it.  We took our picture behind the pulpit he used in his ministry there.  We saw the crown jewels, the armour, went on the fast train, the tube (subway), the busses, and we walked.  All together we saw a big city in a little time.  Pictures will be posted as I have internet access. I want to thank each and everyone of you for your kind thoughts and prayers.

I have had extra time to read as I'm on a plane for eleven hours at a time, so I have two chapters I would like to write about.

SONG OF SOLOMON Chapter 3-  In this chapter, I want you to see that in verses one and two, the beloved of Solomon sought him.  The phrase goes like this:  "I sought him", "I sought him", "I will seek him",  and "I sought him, but I found him not."   But it doesn't end there, because this love story illustrates the love between the church and our LORD, it cannot end with us seeking Him and not finding Him!  So, in verse three it says: "but I found him whom my soul loveth; I held him and would not let him go."  So it is with Christ… those who seek him will find Him!  Yes they will!!  Seek Him today and you will see!

ISAIAH 15- Isaiah 15 is a short chapter dealing with God's pronouncing judgment on Moab.  At first glimpse, there is not much to write about… but upon reading it again,,, I was this one thought:

Vs. 5 says:  "My heart shall cry out for Moab;…."   The judgment is being dispersed, and famine and pestilence, and lack of rain and so many other things are happening because Moab has not served God, but idols..  But I see the Compassion of a Man of God in Isaiah….. " My heart shall cry out for Moab…"   He knows the judgment comes from God and is right and just, but still his heart goes out to them.  Oh that God would give us such hearts for the pitfalls the wicked fall into and are hurt.  My heart shall cry out….. Lord, let it ever be!!

I hope to charge up my camera for some more pictures.  May God richly bless!  Love and miss you all.   I hope to upload some pics.  We sleep better last night from London to Johannsburg, South Africa (11 hour flight)
