FAITH IN DARK DAYS

Today is Thursday.  I enjoyed speaking on the Names of God last night at Church.  We saw how the Bible calls God the Rock.  Jesus is also called a Rock, a Chief Corner Stone, a Foundation, all of these speak of the same quality of endurance that our God possesses.  I enjoyed it!   I am looking forward to a day full of getting things done.  I only have one appointment today, so I hope to get things done around the house and around the church.  Here is a thought for today:

FAITH IN DARK DAYS- It is easy to have faith when all goes well, but faith in dark days are what is needed.  Habakkuk 3:17,18 spells this out:  "Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:  Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation."  This is a great example of "faith in dark days".  These are dark days in our land as well.  The Pentagon just had a Gay Celebration Day.  The White House has a Gay Day with invited guest shamefully acting towards the pictures of conservative presidents who brought greatness to our country again.  These are dark days economically, politically, socially, morally,  spiritually, ....  May we have this same faith for whatever we may face in the future!  God grant us a good dose of "Faith in Dark Days"!!

Have a blessed day.  Pastor Mike Mutchler
