I & II CHRONICLES

Today is Sunday!!  Yeah!  I get to meet with God's people and worship and fellowship with them.  I get to see people saved and growing in the LORD.  I'm always excited about Sunday.  I get to preach God's Holy Word and explain it and give application to our lives to help Christians grow.  I love it all day long.

I'm in I & II Chronicles and these are historical books from a priestly viewpoint.  It has so many applications and spiritual truths in it.  I will always mark down at least one thing in each chapter, and some chapters have many, many verses underlined, circled, and notes in the margin. Here are a few things that I marked down.

1) THE PATTER OF ALL THAT HE HAD BY THE SPIRIT- This phrase is mentioned in I Chron. 28:12.  God gave the pattern for the temple and everything in it to David, David prepared materials for the temple, and then gave them and the patterns (blue prints) to Solomon to have build the temple.  Now what is interesting is that God shows men His pattern.  God showed Moses the pattern of the tabernacle and Moses had men build it.  God showed Solomon the pattern (by David) of the temple, and he had men build it.  God has showed us the pattern of the Church in the book of Acts and throughout the New Testament, and God has used men to build churches for His glory all throughout the world.  Today, I'm planning on being faithful to this pattern.

2) YOU DO THIS, AND I WILL DO THIS- Well, that is almost the agreement that God gave the Israelites in II Chron. 7:14.  God says if you will do these four things, then I will do these three things.  Here are the four things:  "humble themselves", "pray", "seek my face", and "turn from their wicked ways".  Now, here are the three things that God says He will do:  "Hear from Heaven", "forgive their sin", and "heal their land".   God will respond when man repents.  Humility gets God's attention, and then we can pray, seek His face, and repent.  Let us take up God's offer often.

3) THE HALF HAS NOT BEEN TOLD- We get this phrase from II Chron. 9:6.  The Queen of Sheba asked Solomon many questions, and came to search out if what she had heard about Solomon and his kingdom was true or not.  verse 6 says:  "Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it:  and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me:  for thou exceedest the fame that I heard."  Wow!  Let me tell you something about God and Heaven.  The one millioneth, hath not been told!!

This is all I will share today.  Hope you find yourself in Church today and that God blesses your heart.  We need church and it is God's great blessing for us.  Blessings be upon you and yours!    Pastor Mike Mutchler
