II CHRONICLES IN HAMMOND, IN

I'm in Hammond, IN again today at Pastor's School.  Tonight it will end and it has been a great week of learning, being challenged, convicted, and blessed.  It feeds the souls and challenges the spirit.  It is a great place and everyone should go at least once.
I'm in II Chronicles and here is a thought or two:

1) GOLD- In II Chron. 9:13, it says that 666 talents of gold came to Solomon every year.  He reigned for 40 years remember?  Now a talent is a unit of weight.... 160 pounds, and each having 16 ounces.  Meaning 1,704,960 ounces per year, or 68,198,400 ounces over the 40 years.  Gold is now $1,000.00 per ounce!   That is:  $68,198,400,000 (that is billion with a Big B).  Now factor in what it could buy then verses now and you see that Solomon could buy us out of our National Debt!   What to hear something greater than that?  IN Heaven, the streets are paved with the stuff!!  Solomon could  not pave one street in Heaven and all of Heaven's streets are paved with pure gold!!  God is the source of riches and God owns it all!  We can look to Him with Confidence.  Does not God's Word say:  Philippians 4:19  "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."   His resources are so great, if He ever had need to meet our needs, He could pluck up some Heavenly asphalt and send us some.  A little will go a long way down here!   Dear Lord, thank you for reminding us that YOU are the real wealth of Heaven!  You are our provider and not our bits of gold and silver down here.  Don't let us have confidence in the change we can rattle, but the wealth that You are!!  Forgive us Lord, when we fear and fret because our faith is weak.  We put our eyes on the tangible and forget to see the unseeable until you make it know.  (Faith).  I trust you LORD.... You are our source of provision and you are our Provider.  I look to you in faith.  Thank you Jesus, I love you this morning.   Amen.
Just one thought for today, I'm off to the conference.  May God help us to look to Him all day long!   Dr. Mike Mutchler, Pastor of Grand View Baptist Church
