PSALMS 1-51

I started reading in Psalms and was part of one day behind, so I kept reading and before I knew it, I was at Psalms 51, one day ahead of my reading schedule.  Anyway, here are a few things I marked as I read today.
1) GOD THINKS IT'S FUNNY- When the ungodly seek to "break the bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us."  God sits in the heavens and "shall laugh".  In Ps. 2:3,4 it tells us this.  People think they can cast off God rules and prosper and think that it is so easy to do, but God shall laugh at man's feeble attempts to cast off His rules that have been firmly established.
2) I SHALL NOT BE MOVED- In Psalms 16:8 it says:  "I have set the LORD always before me:....I shall not be moved."  The key is putting God in His rightful place and then He shall establish us.  God wants to bless His children, but we need to be what He wants us to be.
3) THE LORD IS:  In Ps. 18:2, the Psalmist names seven things the LORD is.  He is: my rock, my fortress, my deliverer, my strength, my buckler, my salvation, and my high tower!  All seven.  You see, when you start out to describe what God is to you, you just have to start making one great statement after another.  No few words can describe how great God is.
4)NO FEAR OF DEATH-Psalms 23:4, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:"  As a Christian, there is no fear in death.  We put God in His place and when we are ready to die, we have no fear, just a joy in wanting to see the LORD.
5) Psalms 29:2- "worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness." What colorful phrases are found in the Bible.  I love the King James Bible not only because it follows the Textus Receptus, but because it has language that flows and is beautiful.  To me, it honors the Word of God with the high regard to English Language being it's best.
6) GOD HAS IT ALL FIGURED OUT!  Psalms 37:23- "he steps of a good man are ordered by he LORD: and he delighteth in his way."  God orders our steps and our job is to delight in the steps that God has ordered for us.  Don't resist what is going on in your life, yield to the LORD and have Him teach you what He is trying to do in your life.  It's all for your good!!
Well, these were a few of the things I thought about today as I read God Holy Word.  I am looking forward to reading tomorrow as well.  May God bless!!
