PSALMS ON SUNDAY

It is Sunday!  I get to go to Church today, and I will be blessed.  Hope you get to go to church today as well.  I am still in Psalms for one more day, here are some thoughts:

1) FEAR NOT- Psalms 118:6 says:  "The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?" The LORD is on our side and we need not fear about the outcome of any situation.  Whether it be our health, our wealth, our relationships, our children, or grand children; we can trust the LORD and not fear the outcome.  This life is temporal, and in eternity we will be with the LORD and be blessed eternally.  Until that time, let us not fret or worry, but trust in the LORD.

2) OPEN MY EYES LORD- Ps. 119:18 says: "Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law."  Here is the prayer of a many who is about to read God's Holy Word.  He prays for the Lord to "open" his eyes to see the beauty in God's Word.  As we read the Bible, we must approach it for what it is: an inspired, holy book, that is alive!  It speaks to us and the Holy Spirit causes that to happen.  As you read the Bible, be sure to pray first and ask the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart, strengthen your spirit, and correct and instruct your soul.  God will do all of these things through His Word!!

3) OUR SINS ARE COVERED- Psalms 130:3- "If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O LORD, who shall stand?"  Our sins are underneath the blood of Christ.  Praise God for that!!  We can rejoice that God does not mark up our sins for us, but when we got saved, all of our sins were covered and forgiven by the blood of Christ.

4) ALL FOR HIS PLEASURE- In Psalms 135:6 it says: "Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places."  The world was not created for our pleasure, but for God's pleasure.  He created all He created because it pleased Him to do so.  (Rev 4:11)  "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."  Again, we see that everything was created for His pleasure.  Allow me to ask... Is God getting out of us, what He created us for?  Is he pleased with us?  Do we bring Him pleasure?  I know, we fail Him so often, but.... do we really desire to please the LORD?  Jesus said this: (John 8:29)  "And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him."  Is that our goal?  It should be... let's make sure that we make it our goal today!!

Well, so much for today.... It's Sunday!! and I'm loving it.  See you tomorrow.
