JEREMIAH

Today, I'm working with other staff members to do some painting around the church, so I can only write down a little.  Here goes:
1) Jer. 11:5 says "a land flowing with milk and honey".  Once I heard a sermon entitled: "Somebody's got to milk the cows!"  It was a blessed land, but work was still needed.  There is no place that doesn't require hard work.  Remember that Adam was placed in Eden and then told to work!  He had to care for the garden of Eden.  Later, he was to work from the sweat of his brow.  We had all better get to be friends with work!  The harder we work, it seems the more God blesses!!
2) Jeremiah Weeps- In Jer. 14:17 it says: "Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day".  Jeremiah is called the weeping prophet.  He preaches and no one responds, but he bears a great burden for His country and he weeps over their sins and the coming judgment.  Oh, that we could weep for our nation and our sins!
3) SIGNS OF THE TIMES- Jer. 18:12 says: "And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart."  Doesn't that sound a lot like today?  It is going on all around us.  I guess the only difference is that today, they don't call it evil, just doing their own thing.... in God's eyes... it's the same thing!!
4) Jer. 30:17, Jerusalem is called "Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after."  and yet, God has a different view of Zion.  In Isa 62:12  "And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken."
Well, I've got to go, have a great day in the LORD!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
