MATTHEW

Since Mother's Day is just a few weeks away, let me share with you this thought:

FIVE WOMEN WHO CHANGED THE WORLD!
All of them are found in the lineage of Jesus Christ as read in Matthew chapter one.  Here they are:
Thamar- bore a son from Judah, her father-in-law. (Phares)  vs.3
Rachab- the harlot who hid the spies upon her roof in Jericho.  She married a man from the tribe of Judah named Salmon.
Ruth- the Moabitish woman whose husband died and she left with her mother-in-law, Naomi.  She said "and thy God shall be my God".  She married Booz. (the grand father of King David)
Wife of Urias- this is Bathsheba, wife of Uriah the Hittite, one of David's mighty men.  David comitted adultry, then covered it us by having Uriah killed in battle.  David then marries her and has one son who dies, and then has Solomon together.
Mary- this is Mary the engaged woman to Joseph, who will bear baby Jesus.  This is the mother of our LORD.
*Each of these five women changed the world, and it happened because their world was changed, and God brought them to Himself.  All but Mary and Ruth have a tainted past, and Ruth was not an Israelite, but a Moabite who were enemies of Israel.  Each is a picture of Grace.  Mary was preceived to be a fallen women who was with child without being married.  God's grace used them.  Dear lady, do you realize that God wants to use you?  If God can and did use these ladies, could He not use you as well?  Yes, He can and will if you let Him.  Yield yourself to Him today and everyday, and watch what God can do with one single life.
Well, today's is for the ladies.  Join me tomorrow for another few insights.  Pastor Mike Mutchler
