SONG OF SOLOMON & ISAIAH

It is Saturday morning, so I have a Men's Meeting soon.  I will share with you a few thoughts I had this morning:

1) LOVE- Well, the whole book of Song of Solomon is a love story.  It was written about the love that Solomon had for a Shulamite woman.  In the last chapter he gives a verse about love, and how he feels about it.  Here it is:  S.of S. 8:7-"Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it:  if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned."  Here we can see the high price put on love.  How wonderful to have someone who loves you and someone you love.  This sets us up for the greater love that Christ has for us, and that we should have for Him.  Thank God for love!

2) THE LOOK OF SIN- The Bible teaches that the countenance is the window of the soul.  Not in verse, but in precept.  In Isaiah 3:9 it says:  "The show of their countenance doth witness against them:"  The countenance is our "facial expression", and this is telling us that when someone is not doing right, you can see it in their facial expression.  They have the "look of sin" on them.  The scowl, the disdain, the bland look, the disinterested look, the frown, the rolling of the eyes, etc.  These all give the "look of sin".  Let us let God gives us a cheerful countenance, and keep a smile!

3) THE TEST OF FALSE TEACHERS AND TEACHING- Isaiah 8:20 says:  "To the law and to the testimony:  if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them."  If teaching or teachers do not agree with God's Word, then there is NO light in them!!  This settles it!  Let us make sure that every teaching agrees with God's Word.

Well, got to run.  Trust you will have a great day and a wonderful Easter Sunday!  May God bless!   Pastor Mike Mutchler
