Esther & Job
Had a great time at a Preaching Conference in Spanaway, WA at Bethel Baptist Church. What a blessing to hear Dr. Jack Schaap preach and be with other pastor friends and laymen from around the area. I have a meeting soon, so let me get to a few thougths: 1) THE KING'S COMMANDMENT- Esther 8:14 says: "being hastened and pressed on by the king's commandment." Our King, Jesus, has also given us a commandment to share the gospel to the world! We need to be pressed with that goal. This is why a team of nine are going from our church to the Philippines with the goal of seeing several thousand trust Christ as their Savior ourselves. It is going to be exciting. Also in India, I will be preaching to over 800 pastors and some of their wives. What a joy to teach others about ministry. 2) TROUBLE- Job says in Job 3:26 "I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came." He was saying that he was diligent, doing what he was supposed to do.... yet trouble came. Trouble comes to all of us as humans, and the key is how we handle trouble..... may I say..... lay them at Jesus' feet! 3) DON'T WAIT- In Job 17:13, it says: "If I wait, the grave is my house:" Why just wait around till death shows up.... get out and do something for Jesus! Do something, do anything.... do it in Jesus' name and you will be blessed and one day rewarded! Don't wait! Well, just a short few thoughts for today. Blessings be upon you brother and sister.
