PSALMS ON SUNDAY

Today is Sunday!  I'm enjoying the Psalms again and looking forward to being with God's people today.  I hope you have a wonderful Sunday yourself.  Here are some thoughts for today:
1) SING & GIVE- Each of these thoughts are mentioned three times a piece in Psalms 96.  In verses one and two the Bible says: "O sing unto the Lord a new song:  sing unto the LORD, all the earth.  Sing unto the LORD, bless his name;"  So, we see we are to come into His presence with singing.  That is what the Bible tells us that the Lord enjoys.  So, let us learn to sing more and more.  Then in verses seven and eight, we read:  "Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.  Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name:  bring an offering, and come into his courts."  So, here we see that when we come into God's presence, we should bring a gift to give unto the LORD.  This involves the spirit in which we worship.  We come to give not to get from the LORD.  So the two thoughts from Psalms 96 are to: Sing, and to Give!
2) IMMUTABLE AND ETERNAL- We get these two great truths about God in one verse.  In Psalms 102:27, it reads:  "But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end."  Being the same means God is immutable (does not change); and having no end of years means that God is eternal (lives forever and ever).  God is both of these great traits and it is His nature.  He never changes, and He lives forever and ever.  Eternally existent, and Eternally the same!
This is our great God!
3) THE SERVANT & THE SAINT- In speaking about Moses and Aaron, we see they each are described differently.  In Psalms 105:26, it reads:  "He sent Moses his servant, and Aaron whom he had chosen."  Then in Psalms 106:16, it reads:  "They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD."  So, in one chapter Moses is called a servant, and in the next chapter, Aaron is called a saint.  Together, we have the Servant, and the Saint!  Isn't that a wonderful combination.
Well, so much for this morning.  Hope this is a little blessing.  God's Word is so full of wonderful truths and tidbits of blessing.  May your day be blessed!   Pastor Mike Mutchler
