SOME MORE PSALMS
It is Wednesday, and I'm back home in Oregon. What a blessing. I'm still in Psalms and will be for a week. Here are some thoughts: 1) FEAR OR FAITH- Fear enslaves, and Faith sets free. Fear debilitates, and Faith equips. Fear stops you in your tracks, and Faith moves you forward for God! Psalms 56 has some verses that show us the difference between the two. Verse 3 "What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee."; Verse 4 In "I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me." ; and Verse 11 "I God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me." Fear or Faith? I choose FAITH!! 2) GROWTH- All of us as Christians should grow! Growth should be a noticeable ingredient of our lives and especially in our Christian walk. Here is an example: Psalms 62:2 says: "He only is my rock and my salvation, he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved." Now in verse 6, we read: "He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved." You see the difference? Verse 2 says "greatly moved" and verse 6 says "moved". David has grown in his faith that now he will not be moved! We too should have growth taking place in our Christians lives. 3) SMILE ON US LORD! Psalms 67:1 says: "God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah." When the Bible talks about God's face to shine… it is literally meaning "Smile Lord!". All we need to be blessed is to have God smile at us. When we make the LORD happy, then he smiles on us and we are then a very blessed people. Oh Dear LORD, smile on me to day. Well, that's all for today. May God richly bless you and yours! Pastor Mike Mutchler |
