PSALMS 72-91
What a blessing Sunday was! I enjoyed it so much. A great privilege to pastor the good people of Grand View Baptist Church. Yesterday I spoke to the Spanish Church and Korean Church congregations and that was a blessing as well. We have over 500 adults on property, and then another 150 teenagers, and of course we have kids! At least another 300 of them scattered around in the Children's Churches. I'm in Psalms and here are a few comments: 1) HURRY UP LORD- Six times in the Psalms the phrase "make haste" is recorded and fifteen times the phrase "how long?" is asked. The Psalmist was in a hurry to have God help. Do you ever get that way? I do so often and I get so impatient that God has to slow things down even slower to get me to relax and trust Him completely before He can deal with my problems. My problems are not the problems, but my lack of total trust in God IS my problem!! Lord, help me to trust YOUR timing in every situation! You are my God and YOU are the ONE I look to. Please forgive me for all the many times I have not trusted in Your timing. 2) A GOOD GRIPE- In Psalms 73, David gives a good gripe. He is complaining to God about the wicked rich around him that seem to prosper at every turn. It almost caused him to slip. He even in despair got to thinking wrongly in saying in verse 13 "Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain." NO! That is not true..... think about it..... go to God's House.... and now you can see clearly. (vs. 17) Until I went into the sanctuary of God, then understood I their end." So, having realized the end of the wicked, he now concludes (vs. 28) "But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the LORD God, that I may declare all thy works." 3) I LOVE IT! Can I tell you that I love how chapter 80 says "thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth." (vs. 1) and (vs. 3) "O God, and cause thy face to shine:" and (vs. 7) "O God of host, and cause thy face to shine:" and (vs. 19) O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine:" What David is saying is...... Smile on me LORD!!! I love it! Oh dear LORD to have you look down from Heaven and smile upon us is all we need, and all we desire. Our only need is YOUR approval!! Love you LORD!! 4) CALVARY- At Calvary, Psalms 85:10 was fulfilled. "Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.." Praise God for Calvary!! Well, I've got another ten things to mention, but I'm out of time. I go to get a dipper full of truth, and come back with the bucket! It is too rich, too deep, too precious! Oh how we will reveal in the Word in Heaven!! Have a blessed day dear friend! *Hello Mama! Dr. Mike Mutchler |
