MORE PSALMS

I'm in Marysville, Washington this morning.  I went to hear Dr. Jeff Owens and Evangelist Allen Domelle preach last night and will again this morning, and then I will drive the four and a half hours home.  Long drive, but good preaching.  I'm in Psalms again, and here are a few thoughts:

1) HURRY UP LORD!  You ever feel like God is taking just too much time before acting on your behalf?  I do.  David felt that way too. Here is what he said:
Psalms 31:2 "Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me."    Psalms 38:22 "Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation."   Psalms 40:13 "Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me."   Psalms 40:17 "But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God."   Psalms 70:1  "Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD."   Psalms 70:5 "But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying."   I do not know why God is sometimes a last minut God.  He comes through, but it scares us to death how long He chooses to take sometimes.  Right now, I have a financial need for our church, but I have not yet seen the answer.  God has it, but I must patiently wait until the last moment.  Hurry up God!

2) PROSPERITY- Someone last Sunday night, after the service, asked me if the Bible says anywhere that God wants to prosper His people.  I gave them Psalms1:1-3, and Joshua 1:8, but here is another one in Psalms.   Psalms 35:27 "Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant."   God wants us to succeed IF we do things His way!  Let that be our goal, and let the LORD take care of our prosperity.

3) DELIGHT- Psalms 37:4 "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."    It is all about DELIGHT!  Don't just serve God, delight in Him.  Love Him and let that love be shown.  Praise Him and know that your praise glorifies Him.  (Psalms 50:3- "Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me:..")  Work to Delight in the LORD today and throughout the day.

I love You LORD and my heart's desire is to delight in You all day long.  Not for the things I need from You, (though I do need them), but because You are worthy of my love, my adoration, my praise, my attention, my focus, my all and all.  I wish to glorify You!  I wish to praise Your Holy Name!  Be Thou my focus all day long.... love YOU LORD!!  Amen.
