ISAIAH 31-40
Today is Thursday. We had a great crowd last night for our Midweek service. I think I was surprised at all of the people. We have been going through the Bible on Wednesdays and last night we looked at I & II Timothy. I have so enjoyed going through these books of the Bible. They are each wonderful and sixty-six complete! Today, I read ten chapters in Isaiah and here are a few comments about a few verses:
1) FALSE HOPE- Isaiah 31:1 reads: "Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!"
AND, in verse 3 it says: "Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit." Now the principle here is that when we look anywhere else for help other than the LORD, we are look for "false hope". God may use agencies, friends, parents, employment, hospitals, and other avenues to direct help our way, but HE is the source of it all. When we depend upon those avenues, instead of the source, we will find them dried up. It is not the river bed that brings life, but the river! God has many conduits which He can use to bless us, but a conduit is worthless without something flowing through it! Let us never place our faith, our trust, in the conduit, but in the flow of God's goodness that comes through them. Let us look to the Holy One of Israel, our LORD, and our Savior!
2) GETTING READY FOR THE PURPOSE OF VISION- We see. We look. We see the blue skies, the green grass, the brown earth, the smiling faces of friends and family; but, the purpose of vision... is to see Him one day! Isaiah 33:17 says: 'Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off." ONE FINE DAY... we shall see HIM!! He who created our eyes, and He to whom our eyes were made to gaze upon. We shall see the KING in His beauty; and what beauty He possesses. He is the definition of Beauty! He is the awe of awesome! He is the One of Wonder! He is the Creator of Creation! He is LORD! Solomon called Him "altogether lovely". We will call Him KING of Kings and LORD of lords. We will cast our crowns at His feet and worship Him who lived forever and ever! What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see. We shall behold Him, in all of His glory. Our eyes shall see and our minds will not be able to comprehend what is the height and the breath, and the depth of His greatness and love; so, our minds will defer to our spirit, who can alone have such greatness revealed and begin to comprehend. We will cry out praises, we will weep for joy, we will clap our hands and bow our heads. We will smile and not be able to stop smiling. We will see His smile as He looks to us with eyes of love. ONE DAY... our eyes shall see the KING in HIS beauty! Wow!!! Let me stop and praise Jesus a while.....
I've got more to write about, but I've got hit with this truth and must go and rejoice a while. Praise His name! Have a blessed and and get your eyes ready for that great day! Pastor Mike Mutchler
