EXODUS

Exodus, is about the exodus from Egypt.  God uses Moses to get millions of Jews out of Egyptian bondage.  They have become a mighty people in Egypt.  Seventy were moved into Egypt and many years later, several million move out.  They were a people of favor, and now they are a people in slave labor.  God parts the Red Sea and does a wonderful work.  Here are some thoughts about a few verses or phrases in the chapters 11-31.
1) MONEY FOR GOD'S WORK- In Exodus 11:2, the word came from God through Moses that the people were to "borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold." and it is also recorded: Exo 12:36  "And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians."  Why did God ask them to do this?  It wasn't so that they would be the best dressed wilderness wanderers!  It was to give to the building of the tabernacle.  Remember, it was built by what they took out of Egypt.  There were no stores along the way.  God has given to us as well, and it is for His Work and our family that He gives it to us.  We need to remember the purpose of which we receive things from God.
2) THEY KNEW- Exodus 14:4 says: "... that the Eyptians may know that I am the LORD.  And they did so."  God wanted them to know who was God of all, and they did so.  God convinced them and they knew who was really God, and who was an idol.  I'm told that in each of the ten plaques it was an attack against a deity held to be a god by the Egyptians.  The river was worshiped, the cattle were worshiped, and so on it goes.... God showed them that HE was GOD alone!!
3) HOLINESS TO THE LORD- In Exodus 28:36, on a plate of pure gold that hung on the neck of the High Priest, was engraved these words: "HOLINESS TO THE LORD".  All in capital letters for all to see.  The work of God needs holiness.  Now we are not holy, but we should strive to be.  We are holy through the blood of Christ, but our personal holiness we work on each and every day.  Our thoughts, our walk, our words, and our actions, all should be holy!  Let us work on that today!

Well, that's all for today, I'm out of time right now!  Have a blessed day in the LORD!!
