II SAMUEL

Just a few thoughts for today my friend:

1) LONG WAR-2 Samuel 3:1  "Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker."   This is what took place between David's army and Saul's army.  Now, Saul was already dead, but his son Ishbosheth was ruling Israel and David ruled Hebron.  This also describes the Christian Life.... it is a long war!  But, the wpirit should wax stronger and stronger, and the deeds of the flesh weaker and weaker!

2) WHAT WILL IT TAKE?  Absalom wanted to talk with Joab, and so... he called him once (nothing came of it); called him twice (nothing came of it); then set his fields on fire (now Joab came running to him.).  How many times must God call us before He gets our attention?  Let us listen to God the first time so that our fields do not get set on fire.  (II Samuel 14:29-31)

3) THEFT OF LEADERSHIP- II Samuel 15:6 says:  "... so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel."   He stole leadership, without earning it.  He took what David, his father, the king, had worked hard to produce and while being fed, clothed, housed, by daddy.... he stole leadership.  The Bible says we are to follow leadership, not steal it!

Well, just a few thoughts and short for today.  May God bless!
