PSALMS 94-103

Today is Sunday!!  I love, love, love Sundays!  Today, we have the tour group from Hyles-Anderson College and I'm looking forward to hearing Dr. Pete Cowling preach and teach.  Then I get to preach tonight.... praises!  I'm in Psalms, and here are a few thoughts to share:

1) A NEW SONG- Psalms 96:1, says:  "O sing unto the LORD a new song:  sing unto the LORD, all the earth."  Then Psalms 98:1 "O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things:  his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory."  Six times in the Psalms, we will read to "sing unto the LORD a new song".  Now, a new song is one we just made up.  (Or else it is not new).  God loves to be sung to.  Yes He does!  Psalms 100:2, says:  "Serve the LORD with gladness:  come before his presence with singing."   Some of those times we come before Him with singing should be a new song!  One we made up for God's ears alone.  Sing to the LORD.  We pray to Him, now add Singing to it.  That is why we open up Church services with singing.... God tells us to come before his presence with singing!  Sing a new song!

2) HOW TO BEHAVE WISELY- In Psalms 101:2, it says:  "I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way."  Now it goes on in the chapter to tell us how to behave wisely:  vs. 3 "I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes".  (watch what you watch!);  vs. 4 "I will not know a wicked person" (watch who you are around); and vs. 6 "Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land."  (keep in good company)  You do these three things, and you will be behaving wisely.  Let us all take it to heart.

3) THE SAME- Psalms 102:27 says:  "But thou are the same, and thy years shall have no end."  God is the same, and has no end.  Wow!  What a great God we serve.  He does not change on us, and He will last forever, always the same.  Reliable, and Sustainable!  Praise His holy name!!

Well, I'm taking off to Church. Praise the LORD, I get to go to Church.  I'm so looking forward to it this morning.  Hope you enjoy Church yourself today.   Pastor Mike Mutchler
