PROVERBS

We had a wonderful day yesterday and it was such a blessing.  This morning, I'm in the book of Proverbs.  Here is one or two thoughts for today:

1) INSTRUCTION- God wants us to receive instruction.  In Prov. 4:13 it says: "Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life."  In vs. 20 it says: "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings."  Now over and over we see verses just like this in the Proverbs.  Instruction from the right source makes all the difference.  I remember a story of two trains that were on the same track headed towards each other, both confident that they were following the right instructions, but sadly they hit into each other.  Many people were injured and a few died as a results of the train wreck.  The engineer of one of the trains was still alive when the rescue teams arrived, and he was weakly waving a piece of paper and saying:  "They gave me the wrong instructions."  Now he was following instructions, but the wrong ones!!  I wonder how many people will stand before the Holy God of the Bible and say: "They gave me the wrong instructions!"  Well, God has given us the right instructions, and it is up to us to follow it.  Don't be side tracked by false instructions and man made ideas.  Follow God's Word, and you will pull up at Heaven's station safely.
2) STAY IN YOUR PLACE- In Prov. 27:8 it says: "As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place."  I saw a little bird that had fallen out of it's nest and it was able to hop around the yard.  I knew that the bird would not survive for long, but there is nothing you can do at that point.  I'm known people like that too.  That got away from their place.  A Christian doesn't belong where non believers hang out.  A Christian has to stay in their place, (church, home, work, etc.) .  I've seen married men out of their place, and away from their families on "business meetings".  Don't get out of your place.  Remember that the Devil is like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.  He is looking for the straggler.... the one who bolts away from the pack.... the loner.... the confused.... the one by themselves.... and that will be his breakfast for today!   Don't let that be you!   Stay in your place and be where God wants you to be.
So much for today.... have a blessed one!   Pastor Mike Mutchler
