PSALMS

Today I read Psalms 92 through Psalms 113.  Here are a few highlights:

1) TODAY- Psalms 95:7,8 says:  "... Today if ye will hear his voice, (8) Harden not your heart,.."  The Bible says IF we will hear his voice... not if we hear, but "If we will hear..."  Do you have a desire to hear God's voice?  To hear His direction for your life?  To hear His instructions for your life?  God wants to talk to us every day of our lives.  We need to hear what God has to say to us.  LORD, help us to be all ears today.... let us listen and desire to hear from you!

2) MINISTERS A FLAMING FIRE- Psalms 104:4 says:  "Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:"  I know that in Greek, the word for angel is the same for minister, but I'm not sure about Hebrew.  I do know that God's Word here says that His ministers are to be a "flaming fire".  Not I'm thinking that means they should be passionate about preaching and teaching God's Word.  They should "shine forth" for God and share the gospel accordingly.  We should not have passive people in the ministry, but passionate men of God who also are gentle among you, but preach with power and conviction of the Holy Ghost of God!

3) PRAISE THE LORD- Five times in Psalms 107, it reads: "Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!"  (vs. 8, 15, 21, & 31)  This Psalms tells us that man rebels against God, God judges man, man repents, God delivers them, and Oh how man ought to praise God because of His goodness, and forgiveness, and wonderful works He showers down upon us!  Learn to praise the LORD!!

Well, hope you have a blessed day!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
