Genesis 41-Exodus 10

It's Sunday!  I love Sundays!  I get to meet with God's people and preach God's Word.  What a blessed day it is.  I finished up Genesis and went ten chapters into Exodus, and here are a few points of truth:

1) THEY BOTH REMEMBERED- When Joseph and his brethren met in Genesis 42, they both remembered some things that took place 22 years earlier.  Joseph in verse 9, "remembered the dreams which he dreamed of them", and his brethren remembered something else.  Reuben tells them in verse 22: "Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear?  therefore, behold, also his blood is required."   They remembered their sin against Joseph, not even knowing that they were speaking in his presence and that he knew Hebrew as well.  Yes, God has a way of bringing things to remembrance in our lives.... let us just live our lives so that it is the good that He brings back into our memories!

2) JOSEPH STARTED IT- In Daniel, we see how King Nebuchadnezzar moved the children of Israel to Babylon and spread the people throughout the kingdom of Babylon, but what you probably don't know is that Joseph is the one who started this practice.  In Gen. 47:21, after getting the Egyptians money for corn, and then their cattle, he bought them as servants, and:  "And as for the people, he removed them to cities from one end of the borders of Egypt even to the other end thereof."  Joseph started the practice that would later affect four Hebrew Children who loved God.

3) IT CAN GET WORSE BEFORE IT GETS BETTER- In Exodus 5:22-23, Moses is called by God to deliver the children of Israel out of bondage, but it seems that the more Moses tries, the harder it gets for God's people.  Moses is gripping at the Lord in these verses, and says:  "LORD, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people?  why is it that thou hast sent me?  (23)  For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all."   Sometimes it get's worse, before it gets better, but if you know you are in the will of God for your life..... stay put, and keeping marching forward!!

4) ANOTHER NIGHT WITH THE FROGS- In Exodus chapter 8, Aaron stretches "out his hand over the waters of Egypt and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt." (vs. 6)   Pharaoh then ask Moses to remove the frogs and when asked when he wants it done, Pharaoh answers:  "Tomorrow" in verse 10.  Now he could have said "right now"!  But, he put it off another day.  Isn't that just like our human nature.... we will get right with God.... tomorrow; or next week, or at some other time....   Don't put off right decisions... do them today!!

Well, time is gone!  Have a blessed day!   Pastor Mike Mutchler
