PSALMS

Today is Saturday.  I have a men's meeting to speak to this morning and then a wonderful time of prayer and fellowship and as always, a great breakfast.  Yesterday, our children and grandchildren came over and what a blessing it was.  Sure love my family.  Only our youngest, Alex, who is finishing up his last semester in college was not with us.  Soon he can be home.

I'm reading in Psalms, and here are a few thoughts I had this morning:

1) STOP DIGGING!  In Psalms 7:15, it says:  "He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made."  The Bible also says, in Eccl 10:8:  "He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him."  So, the key is to stop digging.  A pit was a trap for someone else. The Bible is stating that if you dig a pit for someone else to fall into, then you fall into it. What was meant to destroy or capture another, destroys and captures us!  Don't do it!  Stop digging those pits!

2) HE MAKETH MY FEET LIKE HINDS' FEET- In Psalms 18:33, we see:  "He maketh my feet like hind's feet, and setteth me upon my high places."  Just this last week, someone sent me a picture taken of mountain goats climbing up the wall of a large dam.  The dam had stones that had less than one inch lips and were almost verticle they were so steep; and yet, there were over a dozen mountain goats running around on them.  Wow!  This is what God says He will do for us.  He makes us to climb over the adversity and obstacles that come our way.  It is God's doing, not ours!  We must claim this promise!  Whatever comes our way in life, God will make our feet like hinds' feet.  HE will set us upon, (not underneath), our high places!  Thank you Jesus.

3) OUR GOAL- I love verses that spell out our goal as a believer.  Here, we see such a verse in Psalms 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strenth, and my redeemer."  This is the goal of my life.  That my words, and heart's meditations would be acceptable in God's sight!

Oh LORD, how wonderful You are!  How I praise You this morning.  Let me walk pleasing to you today.  Let my hear be attentive to Your wish.  Let my heart be in tune with Your Will for my life.  Help me to obey Your directives.  I Love You LORD!  Thank you for loving me dear Jesus.  Amen.

Have a blessed day!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
