EZEKIEL

It is Saturday morning, and tomorrow is Sunday!  It is supposed to be raining, but we are praying that God will hold off the weather till later, we have 25,000 easter eggs being dropped from a helicopter and it would be nice to have descent weather, but God always knows best what we need and we will be happy with whatever He gives us.

Today, I'm still in Ezekiel.  Here is a thought or two before I go off to the Saturday Men's meeting at 8:00am.

1) SET A WATCHMAN- In Ezekiel 33:7, God sets up Ezekiel as a watchman.  It says: "So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me."  Sometimes we think that a watchman is someone who looks at society and warns the people about trends and events that are not of God, but the verse says that we are to hear from God (in His Word, we hear from God) and then we are to speak what we have heard.  (Preach the Word!)  We are not trend observers, but we are Bible preachers.  We preach and teach the timeless truths of God's Word, and they will make a commentary on society, not us.
2) THERE OUGHT TO BE A DIFFERENCE- Ezekiel 44:23 says: "And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.."  Somethings are clean, and somethings are unclean.  There is a difference!  For a Christian, somethings please God and somethings do not.  Some things are lawful, and somethings edify not.  We are to pick that which is pleasing to our Lord.  There must be a difference between things!!  Actions!!  Attitudes!!  Intentions!!  etc.

Have a blessed day... I'm off to meet with some men.   Pastor Mike Mutchler
