SUNDAY IN THE PSALMS!

Well, it's Sunday, and I'm in the Psalms again.  I'm going to enjoy both today!  I always look forward to Sundays!  Getting to meet with God's people, getting to see people saved, lives changed, decisions made for Christ.  It is all exciting to me, plus I get to teach and preach today!  That is exciting to me.  Here are a few thoughts for today:

1) DAVID WAS GLAD- David was a man after God's own heart, so he too loved Church!  In Psalms 122:1 it says: "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD."  This is what he most looked forward too.... getting into the house of the LORD!  We too should have this love for church.  God desires for us to have that deep within the heart of His children.  Over and over in the Psalms, you see this expressed love for the house of God.  In Psalms 27:4, it reads: "One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple."  Psalms 23:6 says: "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."  How much do you love church?  Can you say with David: "I was glad when they said unto me...."  or are you sad?  I'm very glad to go to Church and love doing so!
2) TEARS BRING THE HARVEST- Psalms 126:5, says: "They that sow in tears shall reap in joy."  Tears are a part of any process that brings for fruit.  Labor, toil, challenges, disappointments, tears.... and then the harvest...Joy!!  Are you willing to shed the tears... for your family?  for lost souls?  for others pain?  We should not be weepy Christians, but we should be Christians who weep!  Where are your tears?
3) BLESSED CHILDREN- In Psalms 127:3, it says: "Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD and the fruit of the womb is his reward."  Children belong to God... God wants us to lead them to Christ; teach them God's Word and God's Ways; Dedicate them to Christ; Entrust them to His care; discipline them in a consistent and loving manner; and let God use them as they are growing up.  Love them, learn them, let them go!!  Let them Know; Let them Grow; and Let them Go!  They are God's and we are just stewards of their care for a few brief years.... joyous years!!  They are a blessing!!
4) ALL FOR HIS PLEASURE- In Psalms 135:6 it says: "Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places."  The world was not created for our pleasure, but for God's pleasure.  He created all He created because it pleased Him to do so.  (Rev 4:11)  "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."  Again, we see that everything was created for His pleasure.  Allow me to ask... Is God getting out of us, what He created us for?  Is he pleased with us?  Do we bring Him pleasure?  I know, we fail Him so often, but.... do we really desire to please the LORD?  Jesus said this: (John 8:29)  "And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him."  Is that our goal?  It should be... let's make sure that we make it our goal today!!
Well, so much for today.... It's Sunday!! and I'm loving it.  See you tomorrow.
