PSALMS 91-100

Today is Thursday.  What a wonderful evening last night at Church.  We went through the books of Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians.  Our teenagers led 112 people to Christ and this weekend is a big weekend for us.  Please pray with us that great things are accomplished for Christ's sake.  I'm in Psalms and here are some thoughts:

1) A GOOD THING- Psalms 92:1 says:  "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:"  It is "a good thing"!  We certainly ought to find out what the Bible says is a good thing and then do it.  Well, here it is.  Let us sing praises and give thanks unto our God.  Sounds simple enough, but let us be found practicing this each and every day of our lives.  Don't keep your singing to the song service of your church.  Sing before the LORD each and every day!  Let his praises fall off of your lips often and let your prayers be filled with thanks and thanksgiving for His marvelous kindness to us.

2) TO WHOM VENGEANCE BELONGETH- Psalms 94:1 says: "O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself."  Here we are reminded that "vengeance is mine sayeth the LORD, I will repay."  But also with that knowledge, we see David asking for God to so something with His vengeance.... "shew thyself".  David was hurting and wanted God to show forth His vengeance.  The Bible teaching is that we leave vengeance up to the LORD, and when He decides to execute His vengeance, we do not take joy it seeing it carried out upon our enemies.  We feel sorry for those to whom God's vengeance falls.  Never gloat when you opposition falls.  We are Christians!  Let God handle it, and hurt for all who hurt.

3) HE HEARS!  HE SEES!  - Psalms 94:9 "He that planted the ear, shall he not hear?  he that formed the eye, shall he not see?"  The answer is YES!!  God made the ear, and He hears; God made the eyes, and He sees!  It is amazing that some would think the same God who created these senses does not have the same ability to hear and to see all that goes on, but He does!  Let us be ever mindful of that.

4) LOVE-HATE- Psalms 97:10 says:  "Ye that love the LORD, hate evil:"  There is to be that LOVE-HATE thing going on in our lives.  Loving God, and hating evil.  We are much better at the loving God, but we must also have a healthy hatred for evil.  An inner loathing of that which opposes God and stands against Him.  We are to love the LORD with all of our hearts, souls, minds, and strength; and thus it would seem also to hate that which opposes our God and His truth, His Word, His Church, and His children.

Hope you have a blessed day dear friend!  May God's great blessings be upon you!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
