LAST DAY IN PSALMS

It takes a week to get through the Psalms with 150 chapters and going 20 chapters a day, but they are a joy to read each time.  Here are a few thoughts I have before I head off to the church office.

1) HE IS NOT THROUGH YET- Psalms 138:8 says:  "The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me:"  God is not through with me and will keep working on me and everything around me that "concerneth" me.  I'm thankful that God does not see us as a short term project, but a long term commitment.  I will one day be perfected in His sight!  Oh, what a glorious day that will be!

2) CALL, FEAR, & LOVE.  God has special things He does for those who call on Him, for those who fear Him, and for those who love Him.  So says Psalms 145:18-20  "The Lord is night unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. (19) He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him:  he also will hear their cry, and will save them.  (20)  The LORD perserveth all them that love him:  but all the wicked will he destroy.."   Call, fear, & love!

3) A WISE MAN- Proverbs 1:5 says: "A wise man wil hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:"  Here we see to "Hear" means to:  "increase learning: and to "attain unto wise counsels."  Hearing is not just hearing, it is understanding and acting on what you hear.  This is the way of wisdom and also, attaining unto wise counsels.  Wisdom can be borrowed!  Get it from your patriarchs, not your peers!

Well, that's all I have time for today.  I had a good prayer time with a member before her surgery and I'm trusting God to take care of her.  May God bless you today.  Pastor Mike Mutchler

Blog to come later today!

Today is my birthday!  Yeah!  God has been good to me these 55 years!  This morning, I am going to have prayer with a member in downtown Portland early this morning, so I will have to read and blog after I get back which should be about mid morning if all goes well.  Please check back later in the day or tomorrow for two blogs.  Thanks and may God bless you!
