WHEN WORDS FAIL

Today is Wednesday.  I have the joy of preaching two chapels and then teach on the Names of God tonight at Church.  Tonight we look at the name:  Jehovah.  What a beautiful name God gives us to describe Him.  I hope you have a great day.  As I was reading this morning, there were so many things that jumped out at me that I could have a series of sermons just on this mornings truths found in God's Word.  But, I have one to share:

WHEN WORDS FAIL- In Exodus 32, Moses is talking with God and the people of Israel have made their golden calves and worshiped them.  God is ready to destroy all of them and make a nation of Moses, but Moses intervenes for the people.  In Moses' great prayer of intercession, He says in verse 32:  "Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin---; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written."  Notice the "---".  That is only found here in all of Scripture.  It is simply showing that Moses expressed his heart without using words.  Sometimes when we talk with God about our lives, or the needs of others, words fail.  We simply don't know what to say, or don't know how to say it, but God reads how we feel, and that is enough.  Don't worry about having the right words, just open your heart to God.  Especially in times when your heart is overwhelmed and you don't have words to say or express your grief, your requests, your hope, your love, .... when words fail... remember that God understands the "---".

Have a great day!
