EXODUS

Well, today is Sunday!  I love Sundays!  I have not blogged this week.  I went to Seattle with some high school Seniors Mon-Wed, and then played catch up the rest of the week.  Hopefully I will get into my pattern this next week and you will have a new blog to read each day.  I am reading in Exodus, 21-30.  Here are a few thoughts to share with you:

1) BE CIRCUMSPECT- Exodus 23:13 says:  "And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect:..."  To be circumspect, means to live with an awareness of all that is around you.  In this case, it is to live your life aware of the instruction and commands of God for our lives.  The Bible in the New Testament tells us to "walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise."  We are to live our lives being aware of our surroundings, people around us, situations around us, dangers and opportunities around us.  Be circumspect!

2) THE TABERNACLE- Much of these chapters deal with the Tabernacle and it's materials.  Also the various items used for worship are described and told how to be constructed.  Here are some of the items described:  The Altar, The cloth coverings of the Tabernacle (goat's hair; fine linen...blue, purple, and scarlet; ram's skins dyed red; badgers' skins; the wood of the structure), the Mercy Seat and Ark described, The curtains of the Tabernacle, The vail for the Ark, The Court of the Tabernacle measured, The garments of the Priests, the Holy Anointing Oil, The Altar of Incense, etc.  These are described in great detail and every connection in the tents and poles that made up the Tabernacle are described and numbered.  Wow!  God was particular, and still is today!

3) GOD DWELLS WITH MAN- In Exodus 29:45, it reads:  'And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God."  God wanted to dwell among His people, and He still does that today.  He lives within us!  What a wonderful thing it is that the great God of the Universe wants to dwell with us!  Praise be to the LORD!

Well, so much for today.  Hope you have a blessed Sunday!   Pastor Mike Mutchler
