REVELATION

It is Thursday, and I am finishing up the Bible for the second time this year.  Because of the way the day have fallen, I have finished a day early.  I will start up my blog again on the 1st, which is Saturday, and be in Genesis again.  Today, I'm in Revelation and there is so much to write about, but here are a few thoughts that came to me as I read this morning:

1) SITTING IN JESUS LAP- In Rev. 3:21, it say to those who overcome, "will I grant to sit with me in my throne,"  To sit with Jesus in His throne seems to me that we will be sitting in Jesus' lap.  That is fine with me!  To sit in the lap of Jesus is a wonderful thing that I'm looking forward to doing some day.

2) SUCH A CONTRAST- In Rev. 14, we see the contrast between those who take the mark of the beast, and those who keep the commandments of Christ.  In Revelation 14:10-11  "The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:  11  And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name".   And, then in Revelation 14:13  "And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them."
One is tormented forever, and the other is blessed forever.  I'm so glad I know I'm going to be blessed forever with Christ!

3) TITLES OF CHRIST- Revelation has more names for our Savior than any other book of the Bible.  Every title is another way of describing His majesty.  In Chapter 19, we have these titles:  (vs. 1- LORD our God;  vs. 4- God; vs. 6- LORD God omnipotent; vs. 7 & 9- Lamb; vs. 10- Jesus;  vs. 11- Faithful and True; vs. 13- The Word of God; vs. 15- Almighty God; vs. 16- KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.  And, these are but a few from the whole book, but what wonderful titles they are!

This is all for today.  Hope you have a great day in the LORD.  Walk with Him, talk with Him, listen to Him.... He is talking to you!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
