GENESIS, EXODUS

Yesterday, I flew from Kansas City back to Portland, Oregon.  It was a long day, and I did not have access to the internet until I arrived back home, so yesterday's blog was skipped.  Today, I started reading in Genesis 41 and read until Exodus 10.  Here are a few insights:
1) IT IS NOT IN ME- After 13 years of being a servant, a slave, and a prisoner, Joseph is finally called upon to answer the dream of Pharaoh, and when it is brought up in Gen. 41:15 that "thou canst understand a dream to interpret it."  Joseph answers back in verse 16: "It is not in me:  God shall give Pharaoh answer of peace."  When it would have been so easy to take the credit to get out of the prison... Joseph put the credit where it belongs... in God's hands!!  All glory and credit belongs to God!  We need to be constantly aware of that each day of our lives.
2) JOSEPH- Jacob blesses his children in Gen. 49.  He has some good things to say about each one and sometimes a bad thing to say about some of them.  He tells it like it is.  When it comes to Joseph he has some good things to say about him, and in verse 24, He says: "the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)"  Joseph was made strong by the mighty invisible hands of God helping him throughout his life. God wants to help us too if we will let him!
3) FRUSTRATED!  Yes, that is what Moses was, and he was frustrated with God.  Now, I too have had that at times.  I've wanted God to do something for someone, and it didn't happen, and I've gotten frustrated with God's timing sometimes.... but I was wrong and God was right!  Moses speaks out of frustration in Exodus 5:22,23.  "Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?  For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all."   He didn't know God's timing, but he sure was frustrated.  Hey, when you get that way (and you will at times) just remember that you are in good company... Moses was too!!  BUT, also remember that before it is all over, Moses leads the children of Israel out of Egypt!!  He will deliver us too.... in His timing!!
Well, all for today.  Have a blessed day in the LORD.   Pastor Mike Mutchler
