THOUGHT FROM GENESIS ONE

Today is January 1st of 2012.  What an opportunity to start off a new year right!  What expectations for God to do a great work in all of our lives, families, and churches.  This year, I have decided to blog about one truth a day.  I will not be sharing several as I read through the Bible again and again this year, but I will pick out just one truth that speaks to my heart.  I love to blog, but time is the issue and since I started going to the gym, (and I need that to stay healthy), that I find it hard to get everything in the morning that needs to get done.  So, this is my pattern for the year..... one truth that I can expound upon and share with others.  Here is the truth for today:

THE SPIRIT OF GOD MOVED- In Genesis 1:2, we see that "the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."  "The earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." I wanted to show now the context where upon the spirit of God moved.  It was desolation... emptiness, and yet... when the spirit of God moved, things happened!  That is what our lives need.... the spirit of God moving on our lives!  This is what our families need, the spirit of God moving upon our family member's lives.  This is the answer to a church with vitality and life.... the spirit of God moving upon it.  OH how we need this year to have the Holy Ghost of God moving upon our lives, our families, our churches, our jobs, our finances, our relationships, our health, our plans, our futures, our..... you get the idea?  We must have the Spirit of God move!  Now, here is the good news.... the spirit of God does move!  The word spirit in Hebrew is the same for wind, or breath.  You don't have either, but what you must have movement.  Wind that doesn't move is only air!  Breath that doesn't flow in and out, is dead air, and is in dead people!  We must have the movement.  The Holy Spirit has movement.  The KEY is to find out where the Holy Spirit is going and get in the stream!  He lives in us, but He wants to go in a certain direction.  Let us seek His face, find our what His direction for our lives is, and get into that movement.  Let us be in the flow of the movement of the Holy Spirit, and then we will see that dead relationship thrive, that dead church come alive, that cold marriage heat up, and so forth!  The thought for today is:  The spirit of God moved!

Have a blessed day..........  Pastor Mike Mutchler
