REVELATION

Today is Friday.  The week has flown by.  Last night, I went out soul-winning and saw three people come to Christ.  Two adults and one child.  It is always amazing how God has already prepared hearts to hear the message of Salvation and desire to respond in faith to Christ.  Every group saw several saved and that is a real blessing.

Today, I'm in Revelation.  The last book of the Bible.  The word "revelation" means:  "the unfolding".  The picture is as a scroll being unrolled, only to find in it another scroll to unroll, and then another, and another,.... till it is all "unfolded".
It is a book of seven sevens.  The seven: Churches, Seals, Trumpets, Vials, Personages, Dooms, New Things of Heaven.  Then there are five parenthetical passages.  (revelation that sits outside of the time frame of the book, but gives us additional insight into the past, present, and future).  This is the Revelation.  Here are a few things to think about:

1) THERE IS A BLESSING WITH THE BOOK!  Yes, to read it is to be blessed.  God's Word says that.  Rev. 1:3 "Blessed is he that readeth and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein:  for the time is at hand."   We are blessed to read, to hear, and to obey the words of this book.  Wow!  Bring it on!

2) IN THE SPIRIT- Rev. 1:10 says:  "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day,"   Now the Lord's day is not the Sabboth, but Sunday!  We certainly should be "in the Spirit" each Sunday as we go to church; but, we also should be "in the Spirit" everyday!  Yes, since the Holy Spirit dwells in us and desires to control or fill us, then we should be in the Spirit every single day of our lives as believers.  Now, certainly we are not.... but let us strive to be totally yielded to the Holy Spirit so that we can be truly "in the Spirit"!

3) OUT OF TIME- We get that way often, but one day we will never be "out of time" because there will be no time left!  In Rev. 10:6 we see that a mighty angel will stand with one foot in the sea, and one foot on the land, (a big angel), and he will cry with a loud voice "that there should be time no longer."
No more time!!  Out of time, forever!!  One day that will indeed be the case, but until then..... let us be "redeeming the time" as God's Word instructs us as believers.  Let our days be useful to the LORD, and our time on earth fruitful for His kingdom.  Heaven awaits us.... let us serve till we see His face!

Well, I too am out of time.  May God bless you today and may the presence of the LORD be with you and enrich your life.   Pastor M
