JOB

It is Saturday morning, and I have a Men's Meeting soon, so let me give you a truth or two this morning.  It will be much shorter than normal.

1) DEATH AWAITS US- A sober thought, but one we should think about.  In Job 16:22 it says:  "When a few years are come, than I shall go the way whence I shall not return."  Also, in Job 17:13 it says:  "If I wait, the grave is mine house:"  The idea is that death awaits us, but till then, we should be busy for God.  We are to go out working and loving Jesus.

2) YES!  Now, that is the answer, here is the question:  Job 22:3 "Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous?"  Yes is the answer-- Here are a few verses that show this:  2 Chronicles 16:9  "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him..."  Psalms 4:3  "But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him."  God delights in righteousness, but our righteousness is not enough, we must have the righteousness that only God provides us through Jesus Christ.

3) SONGS IN THE NIGHT- In Job 35:10, it says:  "... Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;"  God gives us a song in the night.  I have sung so many songs that God has laid upon my heart at night.  It think this is part of what David, the psalmist of Israel, meant when he talked about "commune with your own heart upon your bed" in Psalms 4:4.  God will fill our life with songs, if we will let Him!

Well, I've got to go for now.  God bless!   Pastor Mike Mutchler
