Minor Prophets

We had a wonderful day yesterday!  Sundays are just so wonderful.  God blessed and we are thrilled.  Here are some thoughts from God's Word today:

1) NOTHING GOOD OR EVIL- Zephaniah 1:12 "that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil."  This was the great sin of the nations.  They didn't believe God did anything, good or evil.  When this happens, God has no choice but to show them He is God through His judgments.  YET, Zephaniah ends with 3:20- "... when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD."  God ends the book with MERCY!!

2) REBUILDING THE TEMPLE- Haggai is about the Rebuilding of the Temple, the house of God.  God says to consider their ways in 1:5, because:  (verse 6) "Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes."  God is saying because they have not given to rebuild His house, they are suffering lack and need.  Build the House God says and I will bless it!  The message is simple:  Give God His tithes and offerings so that His church and ministry on earth is funded, and God will start blessing us when we put His house before ours!! In Haggai 1:8, we see the people are challenged to build God a house.   The whole book is about building the Temple.  God says you dwell in homes and mine lays in ruin.  Build the House and I will take pleasure in it.  God challenges His people to Build Him a House!!   We need to focus on building a church because it is His bride!!

3) IS THE SEED YET IN THE BARN?- HAGGAI 2:19 it says:  "Is the seed yet in the barn?  yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive three, hath not brought forth:  from this day will I bless you."  What he means is that IF the people will build the house of the LORD, that from "this day will I bless you."  If we put God's House (our Church) in it's proper place in our lives, then God will take care of our homes as well.

Hope you have a blessed day!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
