PSALMS

Today is Tuesday.  I got a late start on my blog, but here are some thoughts from the Psalms: 1) WHAT THE SEA SAW-  In Psalm 114 it talks about Israel coming out of Egypt and in verse three it says:  "The sea saw it, and fled:"  What did the sea see?  The Red Sea saw the mighty God of Israel saying make way for His people and the sea responded!  Verse seven says: "Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the God of Jacob;"  and the Red Sea did tremble and pull back to let the Israelites walk across on dry ground.  I hope we can see what the sea saw!! 2) THE HEAD STONE- Psalms 118:22,23.  When Jesus was in his earthly ministry, He quoted this passage of Scripture.  He quoted these two verses in Psalms.  "The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.  This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes."  These verse are mentioned five times in the New Testament.  Three time in the Gospels as Jesus spoke them.  Once in Acts as Paul spoke them and once in Peter as Peter quoted them.  They are pretty important verses to be sure!  It is saying that the stone (Jesus) which the builders (the Jews) rejected (crucified) is become the head stone (chief of the church, Lord of all) of the corner (what all else is built upon, church, etc.).
