II Chronicles
I have an early flight to get my wife to this morning so I don't have much time to type. She is flying to Great Falls, MT to speak to some ladies. By the way, thanks for praying for my father, he is doing better and may come home from the hospital on Saturday. 1) Happy men and servants- In II Chron. 9:7, the Queen of Sheba said this: "Happy are thy men and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom." After Solomon's death there will arise some foolish men who say that Solomon was hard on the people and worked and taxed them too much. FALSE! Solomon was given his wealth by God using other countries around, the Israelites had little gold and silver. Also, if you read the Bible, Solomon used his own people to be supervisors on the jobs, not common laborers. These men were hired from other countries. Not slaves, but hired to do a job and glad to get the work! The Queen of Sheba saw it correctly! 2) Asa, was a godly king, and led the people into a covenant with God. In II Chron. 15:12, it says: "And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul". Godly men, will lead others to be godly as well! 3) II Chron. 19:2 says: "Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD?" God has warned us about unequal yokes in the Bible, and yet Jehoshaphat, a godly king, so often did not listen. We should not be in business with the ungodly nor should we seek to get favors from them. We just need God and He can favor us just fine!! 4) II Chron. 25:9 "The LORD is able to give thee much more than this." Amaziah had just given 100 talents (160 pounds = one talent) of silver to hire 100,000 men from another country to help him in battle and the prophet says no to it. Now he asks the question, "What about my money?" and the answer is that the LORD is able to give thee much more than this. Take heart dear Christian if you have had an extreme financial reversal, because the LORD is able to give thee much more than you lost!! Look to Him and have peace in your heart! Well, gota go! God bless you today! Pastor Mike Mutchler |
