A GREAT EXAMPLE
Today is January 2, and we it is a holiday since the first fell on Sunday. We are going to be relaxing today and watching some football on TV. I hope that you will be enjoying your day. I read in Genesis this morning, and here is the one thought that I want to share:
A GREAT EXAMPLE- Noah is a great example to us as Christians. Not a perfect man, but a godly man and one God used in a wonderful way. Genesis 6:8 says: "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD." God has grace available for all of us, but Noah was looking for grace. Then verse nine says: "Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God." What an example. A man who walks with God! In verse 22 it reads: "Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he." We see this also in Genesis 7:5 "And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him." He found grace, he walked with God, and he did everything that God commanded him! Wow. That is a proper example. We need examples in our lives and biblical examples have always been a blessing to me. They inspire me to walk the same, do the same. Now, don't get me wrong... I'm no Noah. I fail much more than he ever did, but he inspires me to live more godly, more just, more obedient, and to walk with God. That is my goal. Do you have some good examples in life? Certainly Biblical examples are important, but I also have had wonderful examples in life. A dad and mom who loved God and their family. A pastor who loved me and my family as a child and teenager. Professors at Bible College who were excellent role models. They blessed me. Dr. Jack Hyles who befriended me and mentored me. Dr. Bob Gray from Longview, Texas challenged me in soul-winning and organizing the church. Dr. Jack Trieber, a dear friend and mentor who teaches me to love people and a model pastor. These are my examples that have helped me in life. Do you have some? Look to them. Get close to them. Follow their faith. God has given us Great Examples like Noah. Find them, and follow them.
Hope you have a blessed day. Pastor Mike Mutchler
