ZECHARIAH & MALACHI

It's Sunday Morning!!  I'm excited about the day because I get to go to church and I love it!  This morning, I read Zechariah and Malachi, the last two books of the Old Testament.  When you read the Bible through every 60 days (two months) you spend 45 days in the Old Testament and 15 in the New Testament.  Each day is twenty chapters roughly.  Here are a few thoughts this morning:

1) LET'S ALL TURN!  Zech 1:3-5.  God says "Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of host, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of host."  If we turn towards God, then He will turn towards us!  It all starts with us, because God loves us and wants to turn towards us, but we have to make a step towards Him.  The Bible says:  "Draw nigh to Me, and I will draw nigh to you."  (God is talking)  in verse 4, God says I told your fathers to turn but they would not listen, and in verse five God asks a question:  "Your fathers, where are they?"  If we rebel against God, we are taken out of the picture!

2) THE ATTRACTION OF HIS PRESENCE  Zech. 8:23- "We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you."  If we walk with God, others will want to walk with us so that they can learn to walk with God!!  God draws people to people who walk with Him.  The key to spiritual leadership is not what you do with the crowd, but what you do with God while all alone!  If we walk with God, so good things start rubbing off on us and it affects those around us.

3) PROPHECY  Zechariah is full of prophecy.  So many, many verses are fulfilled in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ and many other verses are yet to be fulfilled.  The phrase "in that day" is mentioned 20 times, and in each time there is a prophetic statement mentioned.  I just noticed that phrase this morning myself.

4) QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS   Malachi is a book of questions and answers.  In four short chapters, 26 questions are asked and answered.  Ten of the questions are asked by man of God, and sixteen questions are asked by God of man.  They are asked and answered and next time you read the book, keep that in mind and you will learn so much.

Well, It's Sunday!  I have so much to do and I'd better get started right now.  Have a blessed day!!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
