LEVITICUS

What a wonderful day in the LORD we had yesterday at Grand View Baptist Church.  We had 440 on the busses and the drive in was tremendous.  Every class was busting at the seems and the auditorium crowd was amazing.  Then to think it was labor day weekend!  Wow, isn't God good.  People joined in the morning and evening services, people were saved in the morning service and baptized.  A wonderful spirit among God's people.  What a joy I have in being the pastor to such great people.  Love them so much!!

I'm in Leviticus and soon I have to drive my son, Alex to the airport for his last semester at Hyles Anderson College.  I have enjoyed so much having him with us this summer and he has been a real blessing to his mother and I.  Here are just two thoughts from Leviticus:

1) I AM THE LORD-Throughout the entire book of Leviticus, you will find God making a statement, a command, a warning, some instruction, and then follow it up with a phrase like:  "I am the LORD your God".  Dozens of times you will see this.  God is reminding his people of who is talking.  Perhaps it would do us well to remember that when we read God's Word, God is talking!!  He is the LORD our God!  Let us remember and obey accordingly.

2) STRENGTH IN NUMBERS- Leviticus 26:8 says:  "And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight:  and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword."  If five chase an hundred then an hundred should chase two thousand; but, God says an hundred will chase ten thousand.  Five times twenty is an hundred; but an hundred times an hundred is ten thousand!  Why the increase in numbers?  Well, because there is strength in numbers.  This is one of the motivations to having a growing church.... we can do MORE for Christ!!  The larger we are, the more we ought to be able to do for the cause of Christ.  Let this figure into our thinking!

May God bless you!!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
