I Samuel

This morning, I am leaving early to help my staff move one of our members furniture from one home to another.  I have to leave soon so I have little time again to write.  I may have to start writing throughout the day whenever I have time.  It sometimes gets crowded in the mornings doing everything.  Here are a few quick thoughts:
1) I Sam. 10:26- "a band of men whose hearts God had touched."   I love this verse.  It is what every true leader needs, "a band of men whose hearts God had touched".  This is what makes great churches, great pastors, great preachers, great missionaries, and even great corporations.  It is men who gather around the leader in commitment.  Men who have been touched by God to work along side of their leader and accomplish great things for God.  I love this verse!
2) PEOPLE ARE WATCHING- When Saul needed someone to play music and chase away his demons, in I Sam. 16:18 someone spoke up and said: "Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him." WOW!!  All of this was seen.... by just watching his life.  Someone is watching us today.  What will they see???
3) I Sam. 25:13- "there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff."  Here we have the first mention of people "sticking by the stuff" and later we see that David gave them an equal reward.  You might not consider yourself a great Christian who wins territory for Christ by winning many others to Him; but, you can stick by the stuff!!  You can be faithful!  You can be in your place!  You can find somewhere to serve!!  You can, you can, you can!!  Stick by the stuff!!
Well, time is gone already.  See you tomorrow!  It's Sunday tomorrow and I love Sundays!!
