LUKE 3

Luke chapter three is about John the Baptist, the baptism of Jesus and the geneology of (as was supposed) the son of Joseph.  Some Bible versions (perversions) will leave out that phrase (as was supposed) making Jesus the physical son of Joseph, which he was not!  John was the forerunner of Jesus and preached the baptism of repentence.  Now it this baptism helped save anyone, then Jesus could just have forfeited His earthly ministry and went back to heaven, but it didn't!  No more than baptism saves anyone today!  Two things I want to comment on in this chapter:

1- THE VOICE OF ONE- vs. 4  John was the "voice of one crying in the wilderness".  We cannot do everything, but we can be the voice of one for Jesus Christ!   You may never preach a sermon but you can use your one voice for the LORD.  Let us be like John the Baptist and use our voice for Jesus!

2- HE PREACHED- vs. 18 "And many other things in his exhortaion preached he unto the people.."  Preaching is exhortation, rebuke, and reproof.  It is not simply information.... it is information energized by the Holy Spirit to help you be what God wants you to be.  We must learn to hear the preaching of God's Word and not critique it, but heed it.  God has chosen the foolishness of preaching to save them that are lost.  (that's Bible!)  We get so programed to think our own thoughts instead of thinking God's way.... that is why we are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds every day!  This is why we "die daily" to self.  John had exhortation to the people, the publicans, and the soldiers.  God's Word will have exhortation for us today too.... IF we read it.
You have a blessed day in the LORD!!
