PSALMS ON SUNDAY

It's Sunday!!  Praise the LORD!!  I love Sundays.  Here are some thoughts I had as I read this morning:

1) BE A HAPPY PEOPLE- In Psalms 100:2 it says: "Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing."  We are to be a happy people who serve God in gladness that is expressed through our singing.  Ps. 96:1 "O Sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD all the earth."  Ps. 98:1 "O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right arm, hath gotten him the victory."  Over and over again we see that we are to express our gladness to know and love God and be loved of Him, by singing!
Let your gladness be heard in your singing today.
2) TAKING A TOUR- In Psalms 104, the Psalmist begins to take a tour through the Bible and show us the greatness of God in the affairs of men.  Notice what is covered:
Ps. 104- Creation through Noah
Ps. 105- Abraham through Moses
Ps. 106- Moses through the Exodus into the Wilderness
Ps. 107- The Wilderness through the Promised Land
Ps. 108- God's help in Canaan
Have you noticed that before?  I never did until I just started reading them together and then it jumped out at me.  Read it with this in mind and you will see how much better it fits together and helps you to understand what is being said and why.
3) VAIN or VALIANTLY- We get to choose!  In Ps. 108:12,13, it says: "Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.  (13) Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies."   Look to man and it comes out vain; Look to God and it comes out valiantly!  I pick valiantly!
Just a short note for today, I hope you have a blessed day in the LORD.  I'm so looking forward to being with God's People!
