II CHRONICLES

It is Saturday morning, and soon, I will be at our weekly Men's meeting on Saturday.  I am looking forward to being with our men since I was not there last week because I was traveling to Plattsmouth, Nebraska.  I read in II Chronicles this morning and honestly I needed two hours to read it properly.  I read it all, but there was so much I wanted to cross reference and diagram the kings of Israel and Judah, and compare the kingdom of one king with the rule of another.  However, I still wrote down more notes that I have time to write in this blog.  Here are a few thoughts for today however:

1) ASA'S PRAYER- 2 Chronicles 14:11 "And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee."  Asa understood that might comes from God, not a mass of men he collected.  He knew God could help with many or few.  That is God's ability... it is not contingent upon ours!  So remember as we pray that our resources have nothing to do with God's ability to answer and come through for us and others.  Trust Him!

2) SEEK & FIND- 2 Chronicles 15:2-4 "And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them."  Verses two and four show us here that IF we seek the LORD, then we will find Him!  Let us be about seeking the LORD in our everyday lives.  Let us seek His face, His presence, all throughout the day.  Let that be our prayer, our ambition for today.

3) HOW TO LOSE IT ALL!  II Chronicles 18:1 says:  "Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab."  To be blessed with so much and then to yoke up with a God hater is one sure way to lose all that you have, and this is what happened to Jehoshaphat.  He lost his children, he lost his ships, he lost most all of his wealth.  Don't ever think you can get ahead by yoking up with unbelievers,.... it will not work!

4) WORDS OF COMFORT TO THE CHRISTIAN- II Chronicles 20:15 says:  ".... Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's."  The Battle is the LORD's and when we remember this, it is a great comfort to us.  God will bless!  God will guide and will come through for His children.  Be still and know.... wait upon the LORD... trust Him to come through for you.... His way, yes!   His timing, yes!  But, also His battle, yes!  Be not afraid nor dismayed....the battle is the LORD's!!

Well, I have much more to type, but my time is gone.  May God richly bless your day today.
