THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD

Today is Monday.  What a great day we had yesterday in Church.  God is filling up the place!  On Memorial Day Weekend we had a very large crowd of people in the Church Auditorium.  My how great it was!  Six adults were baptized, several made a profession of faith, and one family joined the church.  It was a wonderful day!  God blessed!  Here is a thought for today:

THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD.  In Jeremiah 7:4 it reads: "Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these."   He goes on to explain that the lying words are that "the temple of the LORD" being repaired is what will bless the nation.  No, the temple was a place for God to change the people and then the blessings would come.  Jeremiah 7:5-7  "For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;  6  If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:  7  Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever."    Just going to Church will not do.  We must learn and live out our faith for the blessings of God to rest upon us.  What a difference that makes!
Have a blessed day!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
