CAN YOU WAIT (GENESIS)
Today is Thursday. I hope you have a great day today and find joy in serving Christ.
CAN YOU WAIT ON GOD?- As I read this morning in Genesis 21-15, I was again reminded that so many times, we just have to wait on God. I was reading about Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. Abram was told he would have a son when he was 75, but Isaac wasn't born until he was 100. Twenty five years, he had to wait on God. That was hard. In fact, he didn't do it. He adopted Sarai's plan and went into Hagar and had a son, Ishmael. He waited 10 years until he went into Haggar. It is hard to wait on God. Isaac was 40 when he got married, and then he had to wait 20 years to have two sons, Esau and Jacob. He waited twice as long as his father did (once promised) to have a son. God promises a great nation, and in the lifetime of Abraham he sees three boys of promise (Isaac, Esau, and Jacob). This is the great nation? Well, God's timing is not our timing. Jacob had a hard time waiting. In fact, he couldn't. He took maters into his own hands and stole his brother's birthright. God gave him many children that is true, but such hardship he endured because he just couldn't wait. I'm afraid that many of our own problems are caused by our own impatience. But we are in a world that says "Act Now!". Indeed, I like to execute the plan.... now! I don't like waiting. But, I've had to learn that it is often God's plan. Can you wait on God? It is never easy.... but oh so fruitful to do so. Psalms 27:14 "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."
I hope you have a blessed day! Pastor Mike Mutchler
