REVELATION

Today is Wednesday.  Tonight we culminate our Wednesday night series called Walking Thru The Bible.  Tonight we recap the year and Run Thru The Bible.  All sixty-six books!  I'm looking forward to simply going through each book of the Bible and telling people what each book contains as an overview of the Bible.  I've been working on it for several days now.  I'm close to finishing up, and here are some thoughts in Revelation:

1) LOVED US, WASHED US, & MADE US!  Revelation 1:5-6  "And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,  6  And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."   I love it when I find things like this.  Three things that Christ did for us in two verses.  He loved us!  Praise the Lord for His great love.  He washed us!  Yes, His own blood was shed to wash and cleanse us from our sins.  He made us!  Already we are made kings and priests, but one day, we will realize that in it's fullest sense.  Thank you Jesus!
2) IN THE SPIRIT- Rev. 1:10 says:  "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day,"   Now the Lord's day is not the Sabboth, but Sunday!  We certainly should be "in the Spirit" each Sunday as we go to church; but, we also should be "in the Spirit" everyday!  Yes, since the Holy Spirit dwells in us and desires to control or fill us, then we should be in the Spirit every single day of our lives as believers.  Now, certainly we are not.... but let us strive to be totally yielded to the Holy Spirit so that we can be truly "in the Spirit"!
3) WORTHY OR WRATH?  In Revelation chapter five, we see that Jesus is the one who is worthy!  Worthy is the Lamb!  We will be among that group that sings the praises of our Savior and sing out "Worthy is the Lamb!"  What a great group to be a part of.  But, when we get to chapter six, and verse 16, we see another group of people.  They are crying out for the rocks and mountains to fall on them and cover them from the "wrath of the Lamb!".  Now we are blessed to be a part of the first group, but there are many around us that will be a part of the second group.  Let us share Christ while we have time!
4) OUT OF TIME- We get that way often, but one day we will never be "out of time" because there will be no time left!  In Rev. 10:6 we see that a mighty angel will stand with one foot in the sea, and one foot on the land, (a big angel), and he will cry with a loud voice "that there should be time no longer."  No more time!!  Out of time, forever!!  One day that will indeed be the case, but until then..... let us be "redeeming the time" as God's Word instructs us as believers.  Let our days be useful to the LORD, and our time on earth fruitful for His kingdom.  Heaven awaits us.... let us serve till we see His face!

This is all for today.  I hope that you have a wonderful day in the LORD!  God bless.  Pastor Mike Mutchler
