PSALMS

Today is Monday.  We had a great service on Sunday and God really blessed.  We are taking the ladies tour group to Multnomah Falls from Hyles-Anderson College.  We have a beautiful day ahead.  Here are a few thoughts from the Psalms:

1) AN OVERVIEW OF HISTORY GIVEN IN THE PSALMS- Psalms 104-106.  In these three chapters, we have a history lesson with spiritual applications.  Ch. 104 tells us of Creation through Noah; Ch. 105 tells us of Abraham through Moses; and Ch. 106 tells us of Moses, the Exodus, and the Wilderness journey.  When you read these three chapters, keep that in mind and you will see it in the verses. Then it will give us spiritual applications to go along with these historical facts.  God's leading, God's mercy, God's correction, etc.

2) THE FIXED HEART- Ps. 108:1 "O GOD, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory."  Ps.. 112:7 "his heart is fixed trusting in the LORD."  Ps. 112:8 "His heart is established,"  Ps. 57:7 "My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed:  I will sing and give praise."  The fixed heart is a heart that doesn't waver because of circumstances.  David said his heart was fixed on song and praise, and regardless of what came his way in life, he was stuck on song and praise to God.  We too need to have our hearts fixed on God!  Whatever trials await us, we should be fixed in our faith and knowledge of God's goodness and love to us. The fixed heart is also a state of mind.  I believe what God's Word has taught me, and I am not changing.  My heart is fixed!  I am not interested in changing my style of Church, my music, my worship, etc.  My heart is fixed!  I have seen so many around me change and I haven't seen it better them, their children, or more lost souls being saved.  I have seen their soul-winning stop, their commitment to the Church cease, and their lifestyle adopt the world's standards.  My heart is fixed!  How about yours?

Well, so much for today.  I hope you have a blessed day and that all is going well for you.  Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you!!  Hope you have a great day.  Pastor Mike Mutchler
