PSALMS

What a blessed day we had at church yesterday.  God was so good to us to see several people saved and four baptized and three families join the church.  It was a blessing!  We had turkey Sunday and we gave away turkeys to every visiting family and to every adult household that rode a bus to church.  We gave away 112 turkeys!  Wow!  I'm glad that God's people bought those and brought them to church to be given away.
Today, I'm reading again in Psalms.  Here are a few thoughts:
1) HEAVEN- In Ps. 16:11 the Bible says: "in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."  This is what Heaven is like!  I'm looking forward to that wonderful place.
2) SONG- Have you ever heard this song:  "The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted." ?  This is Psalms 18:46!  And many churches will sing this song as a children's chorus.
3) SEEKING GOD- In Psalms 27 there are many wonderful verses.  This is a favorite chapter of mine in the book of Psalms.  In verse 8, it says: "When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek."  God is always looking for us to seek His face.  Are we?  We need to have the same answer that David did when God asked him to seek His face, David said "Thy face, LORD, will I seek."  Let today be a day of seeking God throughout the day.  In our quiet thoughts let our minds drift to God, in our conscious thought, let our minds focus on God.  In our day to day activities, let us look to God for strength, for answers, for help, and for hope.  He is worthy to seek... let us be about the seeking of His face.  Also, when you seek someone's face, it is about seeking their favor... their smile if you will.  Let us so live our lives today that God looks down upon us and..... smiles!!  This is seeking His face!
Well, got to go for today!  Have a wonderful, Christ-centered day!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
