MOVE BY COMMANDMENT
Today is Tuesday. I have been in Maryville, CA, preaching for my good friend Kerry Brown. Bro. Brown was an assistant pastor for 18 years, and now has pastored for a year and four months. God has used him in a great way. A Church that had a bright past, but for many years had dwindled down to a handful of people. Last Sunday they had 220 in Sunday School! Over 140 of them drove in and that beats the 30 drive in that were there when he took the church. God has blessed. I preached on Stewardship and God blessed with the largest offering they had ever received and we did not emphasize the offering on that day. God blessed! But, I've been away. Today, I'm in Numbers, and here is a thought:
MOVE BY COMMANDMENT- In Numbers 9:18 it reads: "At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents." It goes on to say that when the cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night moved, they journeyed whether by day or night; and, when it stayed they pitched their tents whether it was for a day, a month, or a year. They only moved by commandment! Now we too are to be led by God's commandment. We belong to Him, and we are to go as He says go and to stay when He says stay. The Holy Spirit is our guide, and He is the one who gives us our marching orders. I've often said to Christians that when you don't know the clear will of God, stay put! Wait on the LORD, whether for a day, a month, or a year, or years! We move by commandment; the clear will of God given to us by God. Let this be a guide in our lives, and we will not be disappointed.
May God richly bless you! Pastor Mike Mutchler
