ISAIAH

It is Tuesday morning, and I have finished reading in Isaiah.  I have my coffee beside me and I'm ready to write down a few thoughts.  I hope you have a great day today.  Here are a few things I gleaned today:

1) IN THAT DAY- Many times throughout Isaiah, you will find this phrase:  "in that day".  Since so much of Isaiah is about judgment, it means that on a certain day, God's judgment will fall.  In Isaiah 17:7, we read:  "At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel."  There will be a day when all look to the Lord their Maker and all will have respect to the LORD God of Israel."  The LORD will manifest Himself, and all will behold Him.  In that day, they will wish they had served the LORD God, and we will be glad that we have!

2) PERFECT PEACE- The Bible says in Isaiah 26:3:  "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee:  because he trusteth in thee."  God promises perfect peace when we can keep our mind's focused perfectly on Him.  We look at the trouble and are troubled; we look at the source of peace, and have peace!  Keep your eyes focused on the LORD, keep your mind stayed on Him!

3) HOW GOD BRINGS IT ABOUT- God can work slowly in our lives it seems, but He works thouroughly.  Isaiah 28:10 says:  "For precept must be uon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:"  Again in verse 13:  "But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line uon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little;"  The teaching is that we learn truth upon truth, teaching upon teaching.  This is WHY we go to church Sunday morning, evening, and on Wednesday Evening as well.  This is WHY we must be faithful to hear the Word of God preached and taught over and over again!  That is what God uses to teach us.

4) IT WILL HAPPEN- Isaiah 33:17 says:  "Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty:"  We will see Jesus, and it could be very soon!  Keep looking up dear friend.

Hope you have a blessed day.  Pastor Mike Mutchler
